Brekkie with the birds

We can give you birdlists for the trails and the day trips, but for a very good indication of just how birdy this place is, you just have to look outside the window while having breakfast. There is no need to get up, no need to get wet, just let them come to you as they do every morning.

To give you a realistic idea of what it is like, on 12th November 2004, Iain Campbell took a series of photos from 6am to 7am from within the dining room, not a step outside. Not all the photos are great, but the birds were all there. For interest, he also had scrambled eggs, toast, fruit juice and four cups of coffee while taking the photos. And he didn't even start on the hummingbirds.
