A
vagrant recorded only once at the feeders, this species is usually found
only on the other side of the Tandayapa Pass on the slopes above Mindo.
It does not seem to be a regular visitor to feeders anywhere, and must
be sought along forest trails, where it is most likely to be found near
streams. The combination of grayish underparts, with narrow white scaling on the throat,
bluish tail, greenish upperparts, and a small white eye spot is distinctive. The white leg puffs
are a good feature, but are sometimes not apparent.
