Sparkling Violet-ear

This is the largest hummer at the feeders, and it's easily recognized as a violet-ear by its bluish-green color and blue-violet ears. Green Violet-ear is smaller and not so shining green, and it lacks the blue belly patch and blue on the throat of Sparkling Violet-ear. Often aggressive, fending off other hummers from its chosen feeder.
